The five-day training workshop is being held at the Metropolitan Hotel, Dubai, and will practically highlight the importance of training and safety when using pesticides.
'The training workshops will provide trainers with the most enhanced and scientific methods of conducting training workshops about the safe use of pesticides. This is important as it directly relates to the safety of human beings, the environment and agricultural products,' said H.E. Abdullah Ahmad bin Abdul Aziz, MAF Assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs.
He added that the focus issue of the workshop will be the importance of planning and designing training sessions for agriculture engineers and farmers. Participants in the workshop will have clear perspective about various practical and applicable ways of training on how best to use and benefit from pesticides.
Agricultural pesticides can be used to secure the safety of crops against other chemical residues. Pesticides are also important because they protect crops from a wide range of pests and diseases in all growth stages, which can affect agricultural productivity and quality, he confirmed.
Other supporting and organizing authorities of the training workshops are: 'CropLife Africa Middle East', headquartered in Belgium with a regional office in Jordan, and Al Mubarak Agro-Chemicals.
Participants in the workshop include agricultural professionals and experts, representatives from public and private sector, media and journalists.
