Live link up to Bahrain World Trade Centre at banking conference

Visitors to the World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC) were able to view for the very first time online, the construction work which is currently being undertaken to complete Bahrain's World Trade Centre.

A Webcam had been set up and linked via the internet by DTZ, Bahrain, international property advisors commissioned by the owning company to head the letting and management of the BWTC, and was made available on a plasma screen in the foyer of the Gulf International Convention Centre where the conference was being held. In addition an impressive 2.5 metre square model of the development was on view for delegates to view.

The BWTC, a 50 storey, twin tower development of prime office space and retail units, is being built at the Bahrain Commercial Complex adjacent to the Sheraton Hotel. The development is being fast-tracked; work began on in July 2004, and is amazingly due for completion in June 2006.

Robin Williamson, General Manager of DTZ, Bahrain commented: "Using the latest technology, we wanted to help delegates of the conference understand the scale of this impressive development and actually see for themselves the progress of the scheme. We are currently handling a large number of inquiries for both the office premises and retail outlets from interested parties who see this as a landmark development for Bahrain and who realise the benefits that will come from linking with the World Trade Centre Association."

The Webcam linked up via the BWTC Website, www.bahrainwtc.com, and delegates could view the construction work actually live on screen and could easily see the footplate and shape of both towers clearly outlined.

Managing agents for the Bahrain World Trade Centre, DTZ, have reopened an office in Bahrain to manage the project, and is using its international network to offer a full range of services to regional and international investors, occupiers and owners across all areas of the real estate market. DTZ has over 195 offices in the world and operates with a staff of over 8,000 in 46 countries.
