- PRESS RELEASE
SP Jain Center of Management (SPJCM) organized a 2-hour exclusive workshop on 'Brand Management' for the Indian Business Professional Council (IBPC) members at SP Jain Center of Management, Dubai Knowledge Village.
More than 35 members of the IBPC attended the lecture by Prof Ram Kumar on Brand management. Prof. Ram Kumar is a nuclear physicist and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and since the past six years he has been a knowledge worker concentrating on teaching marketing and marketing related subjects at 10 business schools across the globe.
This workshop was arranged for the Dubai based companies of Indian origin to imbibe new strategies to compete in the market with existing brands. The workshop also brought in details on ethical, political, cultural backgrounds existing in the Middle East and how young entrepreneurs need to keep these aspects in mind whilst doing business here.
The students at SPJCM presented to the IBPC members the facts of various brands available in the local market and what people perceive them to be. A case study on consumer behavior and patterns was also presented; from ACE hammers, selling bicycles in the dessert, to Porsche cars.
Professor Christopher brought in details of the SPJCM as an academic destination and the first Business School at Knowledge Village. He said, "This programme is arranged specifically for the IBPC so that the members imbibe our study on the Middle East. This is also indeed an exposure for the SPJCM students on the whole."
Mr. Amitabh Dhawan, CEO of the Indian Business Professional Council (IBPC) said, "We at IBPC encourage our members to be part of these workshops in order to keep them abreast of the market and consumer behaviour patterns. The study from Prof Ram Kumar will indeed help them in their businesses. We are also happy to spend time with new and fresh minds at SPJCM."
