Nakheel to showcase its signature projects at 2nd 'UAE Trade Exhibition in India'

Nakheel, the real estate developer behind some of Dubai's landmark projects, will showcase its most stunning projects at the 2nd 'UAE Trade Exhibition in India' being held at the World Trade Centre, Mumbai, from December 15 to 18, 2004.

Nakheel is participating in the highly popular show through a 30 square metre stand and by sponsoring a gala dinner to be attended by VIPs including ministers and high profile businessmen. Nakheel's Director of Business Development, Robert Lee is to present its projects during the show including the more recently announced The Palm, Deira, Lost City, Discovery Gardens and The Jewel of the Palm, which is located at the trunk of The Palm, Jumeirah, which comprises of six buildings housing 800 apartments including six penthouses.

"The UAE Trade Exhibition in India has become a frontline show that presents an unparalleled window for UAE companies and organizations to showcase their products and projects to a segment that has the financial power to investment in foreign markets," said Wahid Attalla, Executive Director, Commercial and Operations, Nakheel.

Attalla said Nakheel would use the strategic platform to demonstrate how Nakheel's signature projects in Dubai had totally transformed the real estate scenario in the Middle East, making Dubai one of the most attractive investment options for global investors.

"The UAE Trade Exhibition in India will allow us to highlight the attractive returns on property investment in Dubai, with real examples of how early investors in our projects have made handsome gains within a short time," said Attalla. "Some of the villas on The Palm, Jumeirah have almost doubled in price, and occupancy is scheduled for the end of 2005."

The focus of Lee's presentation will be on more recent projects announced by Nakheel, including The Palm Deira, which will complete the Palm trilogy, the first two of which were unqualified successes. The Palm, Deira the biggest of the Palms, was launched in November 2004 on completion, will measure 14 kilometres in length and 8.5 kilometres in width covering an area close to 80 square kilometres, roughly equalling the size of Greater London and bigger than Paris and Manhattan. The project will house 8000 villas in 41 fronds, to be constructed in three different styles, comprising Premier Villas, Grand Villas and Vista Town Homes. Each of the residential units in Palm Deira is also has the option of having exclusive access to private and public beaches and other luxury recreational amenities including private pools, upscale shopping malls, dining outlets and marinas.

The Lost City, the residential cum retail project that recreates the splendour of lost and forgotten cities, is also on showcase in India. The project, recreates old style of architecture from all over the Arab world and other regions such as the Southern Continent, North Africa and Persia has generated overwhelming response, with 75 per cent of the project being sold out in three days. Laid out in a 560-hectare area in Jebel Ali, The Lost City is organised under five distinct areas, The Lost City Hotel Village, The Souk Village, The Gateways Village, The Gardens Village and The Hilltop village. The Lost City will also provide the trappings of modern living, including swimming pools, themed streets and a signature 18-Hole Golf Course, designed by the renowned Professional Golfer and Course Designer, Greg Norman.

Nakheel will showcase the various residential options to investors provided at the 420,000 square meter, Discovery Gardens. The project is divided into 6 key areas, each with a special architectural garden theme from various parts of the world, including the Mediterranean Theme and the Cactus Theme. The project is situated between the area located between Emirates Road and Sheikh Zayed Road. The project is a self contained community, full of amenities like a mosque, jogging and cycling trails, community swimming pools, sporting facilities and shopping complexes.

The UAE Trade Exhibition in India is a joint initiative of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ports Customs and Free Zone Corporation and the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. It was launched last year to serve as a catalyst for growth of Indian investment in the UAE. Exhibitors can enjoy the benefit of meeting over 10,000 importers and buyers during the four-day event.
