U.S. Robotics' launches new USB print server for sharing printers
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, December 15 - 2004 at 10:39
- PRESS RELEASE
U.S. Robotics, the leading provider of Internet and connectivity solutions, has launched a new USB print server that enables homes with multiple PCs and small to medium-sized businesses to simply and easily network and share a USB printer.
"As more and more printers come standard with a USB port, the most cost effective solution is to connect these printers to the network with a USB to Ethernet print server," said Daryle Brown, product marketing manager, U.S. Robotics. "Adding the USB print server to our full line of wireless gear, switches, routers, NICs (Network Interface Card) and firewall devices makes it easy for businesses to share USB printers with any secure wired or wireless network efficiently and affordably."
"With the new print server, U.S. Robotics has added a product to its portfolio for which there has been a specific demand in the Middle East markets. One of the major issues that a network manager has to look at is that of the cost of extending the network with individual users being added to the network. Routing the print command and the shared printers through an always-on third-party PC can also sometimes create unnecessary delays in the task," explains Yusuf Syed, Regional Manager Middle East, U.S. Robotics. "USR7500 will resolve these issues for our clients in the Middle East, tying-in easily with the increased demand for our networking products in this market."
The USR 7500 USB print server eliminates the need for an "always-on" dedicated PC for printing and sharing printers. USR7500 connects to all USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 ports providing users with the maximum possible choice of printers to network and is easy-to-install and operate because of its simple configuration and management Web-browser interface.
The USR7500 USB print server is now available from all retail outlets like Quality Computers, ABC, Plug In Electronix, Etech, CompuME, Jarrir Bookstore, amongst others in the Middle East.
