Clyde & Co ends 2004, boosting its Middle East dispute resolution and corporate teams

International law firm Clyde & Co, confidently ends 2004 with the further strengthening of its Middle Eastern operations.

Building on the 2004 expansion in Abu Dhabi and recruitment of 11 lawyers and paralegals during the year, the dominating law firm in the UAE, is set for another dynamic year in 2005 as it continues to build a formidable team. The recent recruitment is part of the overall long-term development strategy Clyde & Co has for the Middle East and Indian subcontinent.

Lawyers, Ian Goulson, Ian Le Pelley, Sharon Proctor and Prarthna Chaddha bring the total number of casehandlers based in Clyde & Co's Middle East Regional Office, to 32. The firm has also bolstered supporting services with the recruitment of Xanthe Carr-Boyd as Information Manager. Clyde & Co employs a total staff of 76 in the Middle East.

Sharon Proctor - Dispute Resolution Group
Sharon has extensive experience in debt collection and recoveries specifically in the UK for clients in all sectors, including the majority of the UK banking and financial institutions. Sharon will be working with Alec Emmerson, the Senior Litigation Partner.

Ian Goulson - Dispute Resolution Group
4 year qualified corporate lawyer who qualified with Clyde & Co, Ian specialises in Shipping. Ian is experienced in the international carriage of goods by sea, air and road, cargo and charterparty disputes. He has worked for a variety of international companies and has represented clients in London maritime arbitrations and English High Court proceedings.

Ian Le Pelley - Corporate Group
Ian qualified in 2003 and was previously with a well known City of London law firm. He specialises in general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and has advised on a number of cross-border transactions.

Prarthna Chaddha - Corporate Group
Prarthna has an undergraduate degree in Law from Bristol University and a Masters degree in Law from the University of Michigan. She is qualified as an attorney in New York. Before joining Clyde & Co Prarthna was a tax professional with a major accountancy firm in London. Prarthna will assist the Corporate Group, including Abhi Jalan who oversees Clyde & Co's Indian subcontinent practice.
