DUBAL gearing up for unprecedented month of ceremonies in anticipation of 25th year anniversary

The aluminium giant is now in the final phase of preparations for its much anticipated and eagerly awaited silver anniversary.

'We are working very hard to make this anniversary extravaganza a very special occasion. Our varied plan of activities reflects the high importance we attach to this very special event to celebrate the vision of HH the late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum and the wise leadership of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, under which DUBAL has reached twenty-five years of continuous operations. It is indeed an incredible milestone and we are planning the celebrations with DUBAL's remarkable progress, since its inception, very much in mind. 'said Mr. Khaled Bu Humaid, Manager, Public Relations Department, DUBAL.

The festive activities scheduled to take place at one of the world's largest single site smelter, during the month of January, are both varied and numerous. In conjunction with Emirates Post, DUBAL will issue three types of limited edition, commemorative stamps, bearing the images of HH the late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Father of Dubai and the visionary behind DUBAL, and HH Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. These highly desirable and much sought after stamps will be made public and offered up for general sale.

Furthermore, as part of the grand celebration's main event, DUBAL is hosting a parallel gathering of no less than 90 VIP's and high ranking dignitaries, including ambassadors, general consuls and other senior officials. This will be held at the sprawling aluminium plant's massive casthouse 2, prior to the anticipated arrival of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which will signal the official commencement of the anniversary day activities.

In the planned activities, there should be something of interest for everyone. There will be the spectacle of the opening ceremony, the sounds of live music and the thrill and fun of continuous entertainments. Everyone at DUBAL is committed to making the occasion of our silver anniversary an event to remember,' said Mr. Khaled Bu Humaid.

Other notable events during the day will include the screening of a recently produced six-minute documentary film on the history of DUBAL, tracing its successful evolution and outlining its pioneering business spirit. A specially commissioned, ornate memorial icon, symbolizing DUBAL's 25 years of success, will also be unveiled. The creative sculpture weighs a substantial 665 kilograms, and stands at a massive 3.5 meters in height.

Also, DUBAL is planning prestigious honorary events as part of their planned celebrations. In a formal function to be held at the Madinat Jumeirah, seventy-five employees will be honored for their twenty-five years of distinguished service to the company. Another event will be a sumptuous reception, hosted by DUBAL which will be held at the Emirates Towers, where 200 of DUBAL's partners and business associates will gather to celebrate DUBAL's silver anniversary.

The final event is a family day dedicated to DUBAL's staff and their families. Entertainment, music, food, games, competitions and prizes will be provided for the invitees. Workers and members of staff will also be honored for their pivotal role in making DUBAL, for the last quarter of a century of premium aluminium manufacturing, the shinning example to the aluminium trade.
