Standard Chartered Middle East recognised for retail banking excellence

Standard Chartered Bank has been named the Best Retail Bank in the Middle East Region in the annual Retail Bank International Lafferty Awards for 2004.
The award was accepted on behalf of the Bank by B. Chandrasekhar, Regional Head of Cards, Middle East and South Asia, and Jeremy Awori, Head of Consumer Banking, United Arab Emirates. In his acceptance speech, B. Chandrasekhar remarked, "We are delighted to have won this award and I want to thank all our customers for their support."
Subroto Som, Regional Head of Consumer Banking, Middle East and South Asia, further added, "The award also recognises the achievement of all our employees in growing our business across the Middle East. The Bank will continue to lead the way in delivering innovative banking solutions tailored to our customers' needs."
The Lafferty Retail Banking Awards are an industry standard recognising excellence, innovation and achievement, and the 2004 awards were presented to the industry's best performers across the world at the gala ceremony.
