Top international e-learning practitioners will present papers on the dynamic progress being made in the field and more than 60 companies will showcase the latest technological developments.

Demand has been so great that the organizers have had to increase the exhibition floor space, firmly establishing the Dubai event as the pre-eminent international forum.

MELT director Sally-Ann Moore, one of the worlds' leading experts in e-learning, describes the conference as one of the most exciting and groundbreaking ever held on the subject, underlining Dubai's leadership in the domain, as illustrated by the Knowledge Village venture and the increasing number of universities and virtual campuses being set up in the emirate.

Ms Moore, who is also responsible for leading e-learning events across Europe and Asia, says: "Exhibitors booked so far include nearly all the world leading multinational vendors of e-learning systems along with companies based in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Dubai.

"They cover learning management systems, authoring tools, testing and assessment software, education administration systems, virtual classrooms, deployment methods and services, courseware for language learning, business skills, IT skills, compliance and vocational certificates - everything you need for e-learning under one roof."

Highlights already set for the two-day international programme include so far unpublished results from and in-depth study of strategic e-learning deployments, and new case studies that show outstanding economic and social impacts in medical training, customer care, languages and marketing.

Speakers will also present the latest data on the economics and possibilities of future learning technologies and how new developments in IT will vastly increase the possibilities and cost effectiveness of technology-based learning.

"The MELT conference is much more than a seminar -- it's the best place to update skills and competencies for world-class e-learning," says Moore. "Everyone of consequence in this field will be represented."
