Nakheel to sponsor Architecture+ Awards to be held in Dubai for local and international audiences

Flagging off their sponsorship, Nakheel will also participate in the pre-event 'Architecture+ Awards Exhibition 2004' to be held alongside the Big 5 forum, also in Dubai.

Wahid Attalla, Executive Director - Commercial and Operations at Nakheel, explained that the sponsorship was a natural extension of the company's interest in presenting unique design, architecture, real estate and other concepts - from Dubai in to the world.

"By sponsoring the Awards and by participating at the Exhibition, we would like to encourage and congratulate the world's best design and architecture, and at the same time, draw the world's attention to Dubai's own high ranking where he focused on Nakheel's iconic achievements in the field," he said, referring to the Nakheel displays at the Architecture+ Awards Exhibition. To be held alongside the Big 5 forum at Rashid International Auditorium, the Architecture+ Awards Exhibition will showcase models of Nakheel's unique real estate developments such as The World, The Palm, Jumeirah, The Palm, Jebel Ali and The Palm, Deira to name a few.

The 2004 Architecture+ Awards, meanwhile, will reward architects, landscape architects, urban designers and planners and students from across the globe who have successfully completed projects under the theme 'Design for a New World'. A panel of internationally acclaimed jury members have already begun the process of judging the 170 entries and ten individuals or practices that will be honoured at an awards dinner in Dubai in November. Nakheel is confirmed as a lead sponsor of this Gala Dinner which will serve as the awards ceremony for those receiving industry honours.
