Siemens Communications wins 4.57million OMR (USD11.8 million) contract to provide online charging solution to Oman Mobile

Oman Mobile has ordered Siemens Communications' Charge@once online charging solution in order to meet the needs of rapidly emerging mobile data services in the Sultanate.
The Siemens charging solution makes it possible for Oman Mobile to check credit limits in real time, freely adjust charges and product packages, and provide charging for 3rd party services. An additional benefit for Oman Mobile is the improved ease of administration and operation of the convergent system.
The charge@once solution from Siemens will allow Oman Mobile to charge for services in real-time and enable both prepaid and postpaid subscribers, new services under flexible conditions. In particular, prepaid customers will be able to utilise roaming services, previously unavailable for them.
"Siemens has provided with a charging solution that enables us to offer the exact same services to both our pre and postpaid clients. Additionally we are now able to individualise services according to the customers' needs, whether they are private or business clients, added Ralf Fueller -GM Siemens Muscat Branch.
Siemens has been working side by side with the mobile operator since 1996 to help them make services available throughout the Sultanate and diversify those services in order to increase consumer choice.
"At Siemens our core priority is to assist our customers in their development plans and enable them to offer enhanced services to consumers," said Soenke Peters, Vice President and head of Siemens Communications Mobile Networks Middle East Head Quarters.
"This contract represents the next step in a long-term relationship with Oman Mobile where we have delivered innovative technology including the first Intelligent Network platform in the Sultanate. Together we are moving towards next generation technologies and look forward to a continued evolution of mobile services for Omani consumers," added Peters.
