Certified by the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS), a leading organization from UK, the hotel boasts 12 fully trained life guards to offer high levels of safety to guests whilst swimming and diving.

RLSS, an institute known for the best training methods, put the team of life-guards and trainers through an extensive course which included swimming and fitness tests, theoretical and practical exams in First-Aid and CPR skills, ensuring the team from the hotel is ready to take on any challenge to prevent drowning or any life threatening encounter. The course equips the life-guards and trainers with the latest and most advanced techniques in life-guarding and saving.

Commenting on this initiative, Mr. Patrick Antaki, General Manager, Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort said, "It is our constant endeavour to make our guests feel as safe and cared for when they stay at the resort. We are thrilled that our team of life-guards have effectively passed one of the most highly ranked courses in the industry. With our team of the newly certified guards, our guests can be assured of a safe and secure trip to our resort."

Earlier this year the hotel received two awards at the prestigious DEPA Middle East Hotel Awards held in Dubai for "Contribution to Tourism" & "Hotel Advertising Campaign of the Year" and scooped two awards at the prestigious MENA Travel Awards - Silver honours in two categories - Best Five Star Leisure Hotel & Best New Five Star Hotel.

A joint venture between Emirates Airlines and the Hotel and Resort Investment Company, Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort is located on a two kilometre sand beach, nestled between the Hajar Mountains and the Indian Ocean. The hotel has successfully passed the ISO inspection and now awaits the certification. Over the second year, the hotel has added three more restaurants, an Ayurvedic centre and a Mini cinema to the facilities.
