"Our current participants comprise of a bank, supermarket, petrol station, retail outlets, hotels, restaurants, a travel agency and many more market leaders joining soon. We already have over 20,000 Qatari residents enrolled in the programme and aim to increase our member base to over 50,000 within the first year of operation," commented Steve Lobb, General Manager of Rewards Management Middle East, the company that manages AIR MILES in Qatar and the UAE.

The AIR MILES launch in Qatar coincides with the programme's first anniversary in the UAE. The programme, during the short period, brought great success to all the UAE participating companies in terms of measured increases in sales and turnover.

Lobb added: "Qatar is a very important market because of its current fast track development and the government's commitment to growth. We're also seriously looking into launching in Saudi Arabia and some other Middle Eastern countries in the near future, and with regards to Saudi we are currently identifying and talking to key partners in the Kingdom".

AIR MILES Qatar currently has eleven market leading companies as participants: HSBC Bank Middle East, Family Food Centre, Teyseer Service Centre, Skyline Travel, Kodak Express, Darwish Trading, Hertz, Springfield, Xerox, Toy Village and Marriott Hotel.
