- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, December 28 - 2004 at 12:18
- PRESS RELEASE
The Department of Economic Development (DED) urged Dubai-based companies across all sectors to register early for the 2005 cycle of the Dubai Quality Award (DQA) in order to maximize their benefit from the application process.
Announcing the launch of the new cycle of the DQA, the Department declared that it had lined up a series of special seminars and workshops to guide registered companies through the process of applying for the award, leading to the preparation of a winning submission document. The first of such workshops will be held in January 2005 and early registration would automatically qualify the companies to attend the event.
"In the last decade since it was first launched, the Dubai Quality Award has established itself as the premium benchmark for quality and business excellence in the Emirate," said Mr. Essa Kazim, Co-ordinator General, DQA and Director General Dubai Financial Market. "Through the award, the DED provides a platform to reward and recognize companies that have invested in business excellence. In addition, the Department also works closely with applicant companies to ensure that they are closely acquainted with every aspect of the excellence model and its benefits," he added.
"One full cycle of the DQA comprises many months of focused work and includes several phases, before the actual submission of the report," said Dr. Lway Nackasha, Adviser Quality and Business Excellence, DED. "We would like to encourage companies interested in participating this year, to register early in order to capitalize on the various facilities offered by the Department in terms of training and guidance," he added.
The award offers a significant framework that can be used by organisations in Dubai's private and public sector to develop their business performance and thereby, contribute to both their own growth and the growth of the economy.
