The sales, technical operations and services center will work to regionally market and support Expand's award winning Accelerator appliances. The Accelerators provide a complete framework for delivering business applications across wide area networks (WAN) to branch offices while significantly reducing recurring bandwidth costs.

The decision to invest in Dubai as a base for the Middle East operations came after a string of highly successful regional Expand Accelerator deployments at leading national and multinational organizations in the region in the banking and oil and gas sectors. Expand will work in close association with Citrix, its global server-based computing partner, and Mindware, the Middle East's leading technology products and solutions distributor and lead Citrix distribution partner, to offer a portfolio of complementary products and services that enable the secure and speedy delivery of applications to remote branches.

Expand Networks Gulf will be headed up by Asad Haque, an IT veteran who has 15 years of experience in the Gulf region giving him extensive knowledge of the market.

"Expand offers a sound value proposition for a global economy like the Middle East in which businesses depend on strategic technologies that support cost-effective and reliable branch office connectivity," commented Asad Haque, Managing Director of Expand Networks Gulf. "In addition our solid partnerships with Citrix Systems and Mindware - two organizations with an outstanding track record in the Middle East, will help demonstrate the importance of our collective technologies for helping enterprises in the region reduce communications costs while improving the user experience."
