A senior delegation of Qatar Airways officials led by General Manager Commercial, Mohamed Saleh Fakhri, Senior Manager Commercial Operations East, Ali Al Rais and Senior Manager Corporate Sales, Business Development and Holidays, Woo Yew Seong attended the opening together with the new manager of the Bahrain office, Ms Khulood Mallallah.
Qatar Airways Holidays has reported a 104% per cent increase on the number of passengers carried so far this year over the 2003 levels and sees the opening of new offices to fuel further growth.
The outlet in Manama is Qatar Airways Holidays' second office after Doha with further outlets planned to open in the Gulf over the next few months.
Bahrain was the first choice for the new office due to close ties shared by Qatar and Bahrain and the increasing number of travellers wanting to connect to the many destinations offered by Qatar Airways and Qatar Airways Holidays over Doha.
General Manager Commercial, Mohamed Saleh Fakhri said: 'I am very pleased to be able to open this new office here in Manama.
'Qatar Airways Holidays has been expanding rapidly, with an impressive increase in travellers booking through our Qatar office. We are now very excited to be able to offer the varied packages to worldwide destinations to the people of Bahrain.'
Passengers have the opportunity to sample the award-winning services of Qatar Airways, which is one of only three airlines to achieve a Five Star ranking for high service standards, quality and excellence.
To celebrate the office opening, Qatar Airways Holidays is offering special packages at competitive prices. Three-day packages, including accommodation, breakfast, transfers, hotel taxes and service charges, are available to far flung destinations such as Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Amman, Maldives and London.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer, Akbar Al Baker added: 'Qatar Airways is really spreading its reach to exciting new destinations to cater for growing demand from a diverse group of travellers from around the world.'

Qatar Airways flies to 56 destinations worldwide from Doha, with a further 14 routes set to join the expanding network by the end of 2005.
In January 2005, the vibrant commercial hub of Johannesburg and the leisure retreat of Cape Town provide Qatar Airways with its first foray in Southern Africa.
Yangon, capital of Myanmar in south east Asia, offers breathtaking beauty and scenery to become the latest destination served by the airline in Asia.
And for the summer 2005 flying programme, Qatar Airways will widen its route network further by adding four new destinations - Athens, Osaka, Tunis and Algiers.
