Drake & Scull International opens first branch in Kuwait

World-renowned mechanical and electrical engineering contractors, Drake & Scull International has opened its first branch in Kuwait, as part of its expansion programme in the region, which has been largely influenced by a boom in the construction sector.

Drake & Scull has also appointed Offset General Trading and Contracting Company as its partner in Kuwait. The Kuwaiti branch of Drake & Scull International is the company's eighth in the region. It also has offices in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Egypt and Jordan.

Mr. Akrima Afani, Executive Director of Drake & Scull International, Kuwait, said: "We are happy to establish the first Drake & Scull International branch in Kuwait. The opening of the office in Kuwait is in line with the company's vision and plans to expand in the region. Our regional growth strategy matches our growing successes worldwide in the mechanical and electrical engineering contracting sector, and is timed to coincide with the boom in the construction sector in Kuwait".

He added: "Drake & Scull International counts over 40 years experience in the Gulf region, during which period it has been actively involved in some of the biggest international and regional projects. Major projects awarded to Drake & Scull International in the region include designing and constructing a 60,000 ton district cooling scheme at Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai, the biggest of its kind in the world, the designing and and constructing of a 50,000 ton district cooling plant at Dubai Festival City, and providing mechanical and electrical engineering services to Dubai Internet City and the horse-race tracks in Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, the grand mosque built by His Majesty, Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman, Smart Village in Egypt, the Intercontinental Hotel in Riyadh, and the Four Seasons Hotel in Doha.
