- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, January 06 - 2005 at 11:29
- PRESS RELEASE
In a move that is expected to boost e-commerce activities in the Middle East, Paltalk, a leading international provider of voice conferencing solutions, announced that it would soon be accessible to more and more users in the region's thriving voice-conferencing market with its full range of communications solutions.
"With our discovery of cashU as a secure and reliable online prepaid transaction method, we feel confident that our business can now expand in this thriving region, without having to worry about fraud," according to Joel Smernoff, Paltalk's Chief Operating Officer.
Founded in June 1998, Paltalk is a New York-based, privately held company that produces solutions enabling voice conferencing, video conferencing, and instant messaging over the Internet. Paltalk currently has 3 million active users in over 140 countries and provides over 8 billion voice minutes per year.
The CashU Card enables any business or consumer to conduct their transactions online in a secure, convenient and cost-effective manner. The CashU Card delivers a solution ideally suited for small businesses, online merchants, individuals and others currently underserved by traditional payment mechanisms.
Heba Shehadeh, Merchants Manager for cashU, said that Paltalk's decision to use cashU for online transactions in the region was another example of more and more international merchants turning to solutions developed indigenously by the Arab world.
"Our long experience in understanding regional scenarios while facilitating transactions has helped international merchants who wish to enter the Arab world," Shehadeh added. "CashU has added a new dimension to online shopping and guarantees total peace of mind to the shoppers as well as merchants. As a result, we are witnessing an increasing number of merchants as well as online shoppers joining the cashu family, with the system being chosen as the preferred method of transaction."
