Jacky's, Alukkas form strategic alliance for DSF 2005

The alliance between the two companies, both retail powerhouses in their own spheres of activity, will generate a substantial increase in visibility for both brands. Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer, Jacky's Electronics, said that as a result of the alliance with Alukkas, both companies would be able to leverage on an in-store presence at each other's outlets throughout Dubai.

'Gold, jewellery and electronics have been the traditional crowd pullers at the Dubai Shopping Festivals. Our plan for DSF 2005 was to tie-up with an active player in the jewellery sector to reach out to a wider consumer base and to enhance awareness of the scope of Jacky's offering during the shopping festival.

'Alukkas is a high profile jewellery retailer with a strong customer base. Moreover its excellent reputation ensures a loyal following. All these, in addition to the fact that we have no common locations, suggested that Alukkas would be the most suitable partner for Jacky's at DSF 2005,' said Mr. Panjabi.

Joy Alukkas, Chairman, Alukkas Jewellery, said that in partnering with Jacky's the company was proactively reaching out to the multi-cultural group of jewellery buyers in the UAE. 'Jacky's is becoming a destination for shoppers - those that are resident in the country and those visiting the emirates. Over the years Alukkas has strived to appeal to the mix of jewellery buyers in the emirates, and by associating with Jacky's for DSF 2005 we aim to reach out this diverse group,' he said.

Staff at all Jacky's and Alukkas stores in Dubai will undergo training on special offers that have been put together for DSF 2005. Information on the DSF special offers will also be distributed at all Jacky's and Alukkas stores.
