New Executive Sous - Chef at the InterContinental Dubai

Christian Knerr transferred from a 5 star hotel chain in Stuttgart, Germany, where he held the position of Executive Sous - Chef, overseeing, managing and organizing the overall kitchen operation.

Originally from Traunstein, Germany, Christian Knerr brings to InterContinental Dubai his extensive experience in operational kitchen administration and management in the leading hospitality industry throughout Europe. This includes almost 7 years of management positions in the hospitality industry.

Christian Knerr started his culinary journey in March 1994 in a 5 - star hotel in Germany as Commis Entremetier then moved to Switzerland to become a Chef de Partie for a 5 - star hotel for 6 months. He then moved his way up to Sous - Chef practicing and working in 5 - star hotels in Spain, Tunisia, Turkey and Germany. In May 2001, Knerr moved up to being the Executive Sous - Chef for a luxury 5 - star hotel in Germany until he joined the InterContinental Dubai at the end of the year 2004.

His main goal as Executive Sous - Chef of InterContinental Dubai is to sustain and further advance an existing large culinary portfolio. Under the leadership of the Executive Chef, he will be responsible for the 10 restaurants, a dhow and a cake shop, as well as a large catering operation.
