The event is making its debut at a time when GCC economics are booming. Inspired with the objective of promoting Dubai worldwide Arabian Exposition & Expolink group decided to organise TRADECOM, in line of the call given by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Makhtoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Defence Minister of UAE, to all exhibition organisers and DTCM to make concerted efforts to promote Dubai, in particular and UAE in general and his assurance to international business community that the UAE maintains its pursuit of economic, commercial, investment and cultural achievements that has won the country respect and trust at both the regional and international levels, TradeCom'2005 is being staged at Dubai World Trade Centre coinciding with world famous entertainment cum shopping extravaganza,'Dubai Shopping Festival' to attract businessmen, chambers of commerce , trade federations, exhibition organisers, trade free zones and govt. officials and dignitaries from trade and commerce promotion organisations from around the world who can look forward to both business and pleasure in one trip. The idea behind the corporate event is to encourage the growth of cultural, economic and trading activities in the country and also to spread the awareness of related issues.
The aim of TRADECOM is to generate a process of interaction and discussion among various apex commercial and business associations apart from govt. and semi-govt. organizations so as to enhance economic and related co-operations among them. The event will among others also act as a channel that will communicate to businessmen that UAE maintains its pursuit of economic, commercial and cultural achievements, which have won the country respect & trust, at both regional & international levels.
Mr. Hamad Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of National Federal Council of UAE who is also Chairman of Arabian Exposition and Expolink, Dubai based group, the organisers of Tradecom'05, said that DUBAI - The landmark Emirate has long been known as a hub for trade, commerce, tourism and transport in the region, connecting 1.4 billion consumers due to its strategic location in the centre of East & West. It has world's first Internet Free Zone, Media City, Gold & Diamond Park, Investment Park, Textile City, Healthcare City & the Knowledge Village. With structural wonders like the Palm Islands, monumental skyscrapers, exotic shopping malls, and world famous Burj Al Arab dotting its skyline, Dubai is a city of the future.
Mr. Nuaimi further added, ' The rapid development of Dubai's Economy in recent years has been buoyed by the economy's diversification away from oil. The construction, Telecommunications, IT, Industrial, Tourism, and Service sectors, among others, have all contributed significantly to Dubai's recognition as the region's trading and commercial hub. The international businessmen are impressed by the conducive investment climate, security, unique facilities and advanced infrastructure which UAE boast of. UAE is neutral country and primarily focuses on business & economy. Dubai, in particular, has proved its capacity in holding and organizing high caliber exhibitions such as AIR SHOW, BIG-5, GITEX & INDEX. These shows are great success by all measures, the presence of such large number of foreign exhibitors is evidence enough of these exhibitions success, and its capacity to attract investors and those concerned with industry and with its distinctive amenities in allures investors more than it repels them as a result of the international situation '. In the current age of globalization, opportunities to attract trade and investment are more widely distributed.
