Michel Danet, Secretary General of the World Customs Organisation's recently visited the Nakheel sales centre.
Danet spent several hours at the Nakheel Sales Centre, where he watched documentary films and had spoken in-depth about the iconic projects with Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman for Nakheel.

During his official visit to Dubai where he launched, alongside The Dubai Ports and Customs, the new International Customs Centre at Zayed University, he also spent time discussing Dubai Customs' Reform and Modernisation Programme with senior Dubai officials. The opportunity to spend time understanding the size and scale of The Palm projects and The World development was enthusiastically accepted.

According to Bin Sulayem, Danet was clearly interested in seeing all three of The Palm developments and The World, and was impressed by the vision, planning, research and logistics that are an integral part of all the projects, as well as the challenging schedule set to complete them. He added that all the projects were running well on schedule with much of the footprints for the developments either completed or clearly visible above water - on full view to the world from the sky.

During the tour, Bin Sulayem outlined the key components of the project and highlighted the positive benefits it will deliver to Dubai - particularly from the tourism perspective. "The Palm projects and other Nakheel developments in the Nakheel portfolio represent a unique new concept of leisure, living and tourism offering extraordinary experiences to residents and visitors alike. The expansion of Dubai's coast line is a unique story in itself and Nakheel will continue to demonstrate that its developments not only enhance Dubai as a premier international tourist destination but are also an ideal international residential option too," he said.

Continuing he said, "Michel Danet's visit to our sales centre is a great endorsement for our signature developments. Such visits by policy makers and business and industry experts is a tribute to the extensive attraction of our projects which are offering some of the most unique and inspired living, retail and commercial investments on a worldwide basis. Dubai is now synonymous with achieving what is considered, by many, the impossible".

Of great interest to the delegation was The Palm projects and The World's marinas which will be open for both homeport and visiting vessels and are expected to become a key destination for international recreational boaters.
