Mikimoto unveils 'Pearls in Motion' collection

  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, January 12 - 2005 at 17:11
  • PRESS RELEASE

Mikimoto, the world's leading brand in cultured pearls and pearl jewellery, introduces the new series of the hugely successful Pearls in Motion collection, which was first launched in 2002.

From generation to generation, pearls have been synonymous with classic beauty and elegance. Timeless, sensual and sophisticated, pearls radiate a subtle luster that has been likened to a warm embrace. Whatever the milestone, celebrating with pearls is the ultimate gift of love.

"Since 1893, the quality and allure of Mikimoto cultured pearls have made Mikimoto the pearls of choice. And for that, we are confident that the market in the Middle East region will also recognize and distinguish the high popularity of the Mikimoto pearls," said Ms. Emma Clarke from the Press & Marketing Department of Mikimoto office in London.

The Pearls in Motion™ Collection has set a new standard of design for pearl jewellery. The patented mechanism that allows the pearl to glide effortlessly along the 18kt gold chain has now been extended to diamonds.

Movable spheres of pave diamonds complement the pearls, creating a new, luxurious look. Each piece in the collection allows the wearer to reposition each pearl and diamond sphere along an 18kt gold chain and remain in place after being removed. The collection is versatile, playful and functional with the added glamour of diamonds to extend the appeal of this popular collection.

This unique collection is exclusive to Mikimoto and is available in the leading jewellery boutiques in UAE and other GCC countries.

About Mikimoto:
Mikimoto is the world-renowned Japanese empire founded by Kokichi Mikimoto in 1893. The legendary Mr. Mikimoto, "The Pearl King", was the first to develop a technique for the cultivation of pearls. Today, almost all pearls sold worldwide are cultured pearls, cultivated by the same technique that Kokichi Mikimoto invented. This includes Japanese Akoya pearls, as well as South Sea pearls from Australia, Indonesia and Philippines, and the black pearls from Tahiti. The family-run business remains the world leader in superior-quality Akoya and South Sea cultured pearls. The company is internationally recognized for its product design, crafting techniques and strict quality control.
