- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, January 15 - 2005 at 15:37
- PRESS RELEASE
Located at the new custom-built site at Dubailand project, the Global Village which is the first among the 10 major destinations of DSF 2005 features pavilions from 46 different countries, 54 restaurants and over 75 kiosks for companies from all across the world.
A traditional Majlis greets the visitors to a warm welcome at the entrance. All through DSF cultural shows like "Nahama and the Diving Days" reflecting the county's tradition and past are being staged. Two weekly bands are playing live music for a fuller feel of Qatar and its lifestyle.
Housing 30 shops in all this pavilion has a wide variety of goods to offer. More than 44 companies largely from Qatar have put their goods for sale at this 750m square area. The products available include gifts, perfumes, religious cassettes, cartoon videos, creams, herbs, honey, bukhoor, pyjamas, traditional dresses and gowns, ladies bags and shoes.
The Global Village has something to offer for everyone; it's Dubai's very own celebration of the diversity and similarity among peoples of the world. It has come to us this year with a new logo, a new identity and at a new location with six entrances and exits and a 15,000 capacity car park to ensure easy flow of traffic.
Special families only and ladies only days have been chalked out in the week. And the icing on the cake is that unlike previous festivals, this year the Global Village will be open up to March 31, long after DSF 2005 closes on February 12.
