Gitex Hyderabad breaks all past records to register 26 per cent growth in trade visitors

Organisers Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) announced a remarkable 26 per cent growth (7,938) in trade visitors while general public registrations crossed the 17,250 mark as GITEX Hyderabad drew to a successful close.

Dr. J.C. Mohanty, Principal Secretary (IT) Government of Andhra Pradesh said, "We are steadfast in our commitment to developing this event further and will add more avenues and enhance it as a growing number of players in the IT sector launch new technologies and help broaden the state's role in
the IT industry."

Retail sales at GITEX Computer Shopper Hyderabad exceeded Rs 30 million as consumers availed bargains at the show due to the sales tax exemption extended by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

DWTC International Project Manager, David Lim remarked, "The unanimous verdict from our exhibitors is that the event has provided an ideal platform to network with the IT industry and trade professionals from throughout India as well as overseas."

First time exhibitor, Prem Kumar Nair, Senior Manager Marketing from Siemens said, "We have been exhibiting at various trade shows and other events throughout India and this is undoubtedly the one with the best infrastructure, quality turnout of visitors, good networking opportunities and an ideal environment to conduct business."

Mr. V. Chakrapani, Customer Relations Manager from WEP Peripherals, a repeat exhibitor to the show, stated: "We have witnessed steady growth through our participation at the event for the past few years. This year in particular has been exceptionally outstanding, with serious trade inquiries.

The event ended with a flourish as Natakirithi Dr. Rajendra Prasad, famous Telugu cine star conducted the "Win-A-Holiday-To-Dubai" competition organised by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerece Marketing (DTCM) where a lucky Hyderabad resident Mr. T. Vijay Kumar, a civil engineer by profession won an all expenses paid holiday to Dubai.
