DCCI: New representative Committees for the Business Groups

Six new representative committees of the Business Groups are likely to be elected soon at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).

Those groups are: Foodstuff Trading, Pharmaceuticals & Health Equipment Trading, Land Transporting, Printing & Publishing, Food & Beverages manufacturing, and Exhibitions & Conventions Organizers. The number of the Business Groups operating under the umbrella of the Chamber has been increased to 18, since implementing its new strategy. Yet, the Chamber expects to have more business groups in the near future. The objective, on one hand, is to cope with the developments in the business arena, in general and, on the other hand, to boost the role of the commercial, industrial, financial and services' sectors in Dubai.

The Chamber has established the business groups, according to economic activities, to allow members to be more involved in its activities and to have bigger role in identifying major problems and issues, and in shaping economic policies and legislation. It pursued to activate the links amongst members and study their suggestions and recommendations related to organizing and developing their sectors as well as working as a link between them and the concerning authorities in and out of UAE.

Mr. Abdulrahman Ghanem Al Mutaiwee, Director-General of DCCI stated that the Business Groups is an aspect of the new strategy which relies on a real will to enhance its performance and responding to the necessities of the modernism in order to extend better services to the business and finance society.

"The Chamber provided the business community with the opportunity to contribute in developing their sectors and enhance an environment of cooperation and communication amongst the members of each business group", Mr. Mutaiwee said, "It also assists in overcoming the obstacles that face the business sectors in order that enlarges the volume of trade in all economic sectors".
