Emirates Bank's expertise in contract financing and its impressive track record in supporting major infrastructure projects in the U.A.E. have featured prominently in clinching this deal amidst stiff competition from the banking sector.

Emaar has awarded the AED 2.7 Billion contract entailing 12 million square feet of retail space to a joint venture formed between DUTCO Balfour Beatty & Al Ghandi and Consolidated Contractors International Co.

The Dubai Mall is part of the Burj Dubai development and offers many unique attractions including, the world's largest indoor Gold Souq, several food courts, Waterfront Atrium and an Olympic-sized ice rink. The Dubai Mall expects to attract 35 million visitors yearly. Work on this landmark project is scheduled for completion by 2007.

The signing ceremony was held at EBG Head Office on 12th January 2005, which was attended by representatives of EBI, DBB and CCCIC.
