A dinner reception followed after the press conference attended by Damas' VIP guests where a showcase of the Ball collections including the "TrainMaster - Pulse Meter" - the world's first illuminating automatic chronograph watch, being endorsed by Mr. Bachchan was on display for exclusive viewing.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Tawhid Abdullah, Managing Director of Damas said: "With Damas' expertise of the local market and the unique features of Ball Watch, we believe it will not be long until Ball Watch marks another success in its 113 years of history." Mr. Abdullah also added: "To introduce such a fantastic brand like Ball, we have appointed Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, the undisputed king of Indian Cinema, to be the brand ambassador. Mr. Bachchan, who is well-admired internationally, can represent and promote the brand with pride & dignity to the entire market in this region."
Amitabh Bachchan, the towering icon of the Bollywood film industry commented, "It is indeed a privilege and great pride to be chosen as the brand ambassador of the Ball Watch. I myself is a big time lover and collector of the most famous watches in the world so I know that I can represent the brand well." He also added, "To endorse a watch brand like Ball is already a terrific experience. Al Ball watches are entirely Swiss made and contain a self-powered micro gas light that glows 100 times brighter for more than 25 years.

Upon reaching adulthood, he began looking for a career and chose to do two years as an apprentice watchmaker. After completing his apprenticeship, he began his career in sales for John Dueber, a watchcase manufacturer. In a few years he had established the Webb C. Ball Company.
Webb C. Ball was responsible in establishing watch standards and an inspection system that required all watches and clocks used on the railroad to be checked by competent watchmakers. The Railroad Standard Watch, as specified by Ball had, among other specifications to be adjusted with a rating within 30 seconds a week. Ball also specified the style of the numerals in the dial, as well as the design of the hands, resulting in the distinctive appearance of the Ball dial. It was Ball's system that led to accuracy and uniformity in timekeeping, and established railroad time and railroad watches as the standard for precision timekeeping.
Ball's accomplishments reached international acclaim, not only for his civic contributions, but he was also honored for his role in the history of horology.
