This scholarship programme will award scholarships worth 50% of tuition fees to well qualified candidates enabling them to take up places on the University's Master's programmes in Information Technology, Project Management and Education.

Commenting on the announcement Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free said, "The establishment of an educational facility such as The British University in Dubai is indicative of the emphasis the UAE is placing on education. As part of Dubai Duty Free's community-based activities, we are delighted to support the university through this programme."

This partnership follows on from scholarships provided by DUCAB and Emirates Group, demonstrating the commitment of key organizations in this region to developing Dubai into a centre of academic excellence. The scholarships offered by these organizations will provide students with support throughout their studies and ensure that they benefit from the best in educational standards.

David Lock, Registrar and Acting Chief Executive of BUiD said, "The generosity of Dubai Duty Free will enable well qualified and well motivated students to study at the university. We have been impressed by the high calibre of previous scholarship students and we are delighted that this opportunity will be extended to more applicants." He continued, "The high quality of the students has meant that the university has got off to a strong start and we are confident that this will continue as the university grows and develops."

The scholarships will be awarded to high achieving, well qualified students who might not otherwise be able to study a Masters programme. Students who apply for a Masters programme and receive an offer of place at BUiD will be eligible to apply for a Dubai Duty Free scholarship.

BUiD will be welcoming its second intake of students this month and the university is still accepting applications for the January intake. BUiD is inviting students to apply immediately in order to take advantage of the generous scholarships provided by Dubai Duty Free.
