KAC celebrates 50 golden years

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of KAC, the Chairman and Managing Director, Sheikh Talal Mubarak Abdulla Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah stated that Kuwait Airways has played a pivotal role in the development and progress of Kuwait.

He emphasized the need for transparent discussions concerning the future of KAC and its position in the challenging and competitive world of commercial aviation.

The Golden Jubilee celebration was an opportunity for KAC to commemorate 50 glorious years of excellence in service with the issue of two publications - 'Golden Years of Flight' and 'Sky of Gold'.

Sheikh Talal Mubarak Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah took the opportunity to reflect upon Kuwait Airways remarkable past and emphasized KAC's commitment to an even greater future.

The celebration at KAC headquarters was held under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Minister of Communications, Planning and the Minister of State for Administrative Development Affairs representing H.E. the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

In his address, the Minister reaffirmed the Government's determination to push economic reform and create a conducive and open environment for foreign investment to work within.

Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah said that the government's current strategic objective was to secure a favorable place for Kuwait in the global market by transforming the country into a financial, commercial and service hub. The Minister further added that KAC will play a leading role in this transformation.

The Minister also said that studies are currently being conducted to address the issue of KAC's privatization. He assured the audience that the Government is coordinating its efforts with the National Assembly to pass legislation transforming Kuwait Airways Corporation into a private company.

Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah reaffirmed that KAC is one of Kuwait's most important corporations and the government intends to guide it into the next phase in accordance with modern business practices while safeguarding the full rights of all KAC's employees and especially the national cadre's.
