American Express and Dubai Duty Free are celebrating the 3rd Anniversary of the Dubai Duty Free American Express Credit Card.
"The secret of the Dubai Duty Free American Express Credit Card's success is that it offers the right set of benefits to the right people" stated Trevor Stokes, President and CEO of American Express Middle East and North Africa. Stokes added: "In 2004, we witnessed an impressive 300% increase in the total number of new members being issued with the American Express Dubai Duty Free Credit Card".
"We are delighted with the significant growth of the Dubai Duty Free American Express Credit card which has exceeded its target constantly over the last three years", said Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free. "As leaders in the service industry, American Express and Dubai Duty Free are continually working together to increase the wide range of existing benefits available to cardmembers, with carefully selected seasonal offers and special promotions to suit the consumer lifestyle" he added.
American Express Dubai Duty Free Cardmembers are entitled to 10% discount on over 15,000 items at the Dubai Duty Free along with special privileges and benefits at Dubai Duty Free affiliated outlets. Cardmembers also have the opportunity to win an entry to the Millennium Millionaire raffle draw, where they have a chance to win $1,000,000 or a luxury car. In addition, the card which is oriented to frequent travellers and professionals with an active lifestyle, offers a variety of fine dining options and special deals.
American Express-Blue Card has been voted the "Credit Card of the Year" in the Middle East Banking and Finance Awards Ceremony during the Dubai 2003 IMF Conference. The company, which offers a range of charge and credit cards, revolutionized the UAE market in 2001, when it launched Blue, a local currency credit card that offers 1% MoneyBack.
From its beginning in 1983, Dubai Duty Free has matured into a company with an annual turnover exceeding US$500 million and is now ranked No. 3 in the world in terms of turnover. In 2004, the operation was named 'Airport Retailer of the Year' for a record fourth time in the annual Frontier Awards.
