FSC anticipates a growing demand for its PRIMERGY servers, led by the new-generation PRIMERGY S2 servers, the Intel® Xeon-processor-based server platforms with Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T).

The company has spelt out to its reseller partners that it sees the channel playing a key role in meeting the anticipated substantial demand for its new dual-processor family in enterprises throughout the Middle East.

At a recent reseller event in Dubai FSC assured its partners of total support in meeting market growth expectations as well as attractive rewards.

In his opening address to resellers, Habib Bouchrara, Vice President, International Sales Region, Fujitsu Siemens Computers said, "Our commitment is to offer IT products with high quality, reliability and endurance. Our servers easily meet the wide-ranging requirements of today's businesses."

"Channel strategy is very important to us, therefore we will make sure resellers get value with FSC, backed by a comprehensive training and certification program and a new support infrastructure that includes a newly appointed parts distribution operation," added Bouchrara.

Addressing the resellers on "PRIMERGY S2 - the New Generation of Services", Ashraf El-Arabaty, FSC's Product Marketing manager, confirmed that Primergy S2 servers are designed to offer IT managers greater flexibility and performance for their server farms, while ensuring 'peace of mind' by protecting application investment and providing easier server management.

"One of the key features is the innovative air-flow cooling technology, "cool-safe", that helps extend the lifespan of servers even in the highest density server racks. The products also integrate a range of management tools designed to simplify the IT manager's tasks," said Al Arabaty.

The Microsoft Technology Centre (MTC), which was launched last September, is the first of its kind in the Middle East and Africa and will be serving the region. It is fully empowered with Primergy servers with an infrastructure having 40-plus servers, 75-plus processors, and 2-plus combined terabytes of storage from Fujitsu Siemens Computers.

"The MTC mission is to enrich the decision-making process for enterprise organisations by providing them with deep, custom solution scenarios in an engaging atmosphere. There, they will find the facilities and resources they need on a powerful and reliable Infrastructure based on Primergy Servers."

"In the reliable FSC environment, enterprises will be able to envision, architect, and then evaluate customised Microsoft .NET technology solutions prior to deployment in their own IT environment," added Al Arabaty.

Toni Junghaenel, FSC's Service Manager, explained the company's focus on providing quick service through easy availability of spares. He expressed certainty that the recent appointment of Cadensworth FZCO as the Authorised Parts Reseller for the Middle East would enable FSC to further enhance after-sales service to its customers.

In addition, he told resellers that the after sales service for the 2nd tier reseller channel will be backed by the independent service provider Redington Gulf, which has a network spanning seven countries in the Middle East.

Farid Sabbagh, Distribution Manager, Middle East, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, focused on the distinguished channel support offered by FSC to their resellers through the Primergy Club Programme, FSC's channel reseller programme for server solution partners

"The programme enables resellers to gain fresh insights into the benefits of Primergy servers and knowledge sharing, and provides them with special training and accreditation programmes
that enable them to market the product more effectively." said Sabbagh.

Also speaking at the event, Oussama Kawas, Technical Manager, Pre-sales, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, highlighted the integration of Intel Primergy management "ServerView tools" into Fujitsu Siemens TRIOLE strategy.

Ferhad Patel, Market Development Manager, Intel, MENA, described how the Xeon EM64T provides the versatility to run 32-bit and 64-bit applications.
