The event organized by Datamatix will be held from May 21st to 25th 2005 at the Al Multaqa Ballroom, DWTC Dubai UAE. The forum is being sponsored by ORACLE, Ducont, Smart Square and Tripp-Lite.

With the introduction of e-Government, government organizations are increasingly exposed to the Internet through online services and are growing more reliant on technology infrastructures for all their operations. With ICT security becoming an extremely critical issue, what are the key areas of weakness and how can government organizations protect themselves through better security policies, procedures and environments?

Day 5 of the 11th GCC e-Government Forum is devoted to case studies and expert discussions on ICT security for e-Government. Leading advisors from government and industry bodies, practitioners in ICT security and leading suppliers will take part in the discussions.

"Public sector organizations are increasingly reliant on ICT for their day-to-day operations and must protect the increasing volumes of sensitive information they hold." said Ali Al Kamali, Managing Director Datamatix. "As we drive forward with e-Government we clearly need standards to secure the delivery of e-Government services and inspire trust and confidence amongst the end users."

"The 11th GCC e-Government Forum is an excellent opportunity to discuss the security challenges facing e-Government projects in the GCC with regional and international experts and decision makers" he added.

Along with ICT security, a variety of issues will be discussed during the 5-day event including m-Government, redesigning e-Govt business and citizen services, delivering government services through the web, change management and much more. Global case studies of successful e-Government projects will also be presented at the conference.

The event will bring together Middle East IT decision makers, government officials, business leaders, technologists, senior level executives and researchers to closely examine the state of e-Government readiness in the GCC.
