IDEX 2005 Exhibitor - Delegation Contact Management System launched

  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, January 24 - 2005 at 14:31
  • PRESS RELEASE

An online technology tool that will enhance interactions between exhibitors and international delegations visiting IDEX 2005, has been launched in time for the event, which will take place next month at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Over 70 international delegations are expected to attend IDEX 2005 - the 7th International Exhibition & Conference, which will be held 12 - 17 February, 2005 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The online Exhibitor - Delegation Contact Management System (EDCMS) enables exhibitors to match their product offering with the current inventory and future requirements of country delegations visiting IDEX 2005. The system also enables delegation members to quickly identify exhibitors by their product profile. The system has been developed by Idexnews.com, the official e-zine and online show daily for IDEX 2005.

"The introduction of this system is in line with GEC's mission to constantly enhance the platform that we provide for our exhibitors and visitors to derive the maximum possible benefit from their presence at IDEX 2005", said a spokesperson for the General Exhibitions Corporation (GEC). GEC is the co-organiser of IDEX 2005 along with the UAE GHQ.

The System is accessible at the following link: www.idexnews.com/delegation_list.htm. The link provides a list of countries that are sending official delegations to IDEX 2005. When a particular country's name is clicked, it opens a section titled "Order of Battle" where different equipment heads such "artillery", "helicopters" etc, are displayed pertaining to that country. A link to IDEX exhibitors whose product profile matches the selected equipment is also available.

Acquisition and equipment related news of the selected country for the past year is also displayed in order to provide an overview of procurement trends for the specified country. To express interest in a particular delegation or company, an online form needs to be filled in which will then be forwarded to the IDEX organisers who will in turn liaise with the specific country delegation.

To facilitate the meetings between exhibitors and delegation members, the organisers have arranged for designated officers to be assigned to each delegation. A liaison officer in each of the halls will be the point of contact for exhibitors, along with a hostess who will co-ordinate meetings between the delegation officer, liaison officer and the protocol department of GHQ, for the exhibitor.
