- PRESS RELEASE
The Dubai Shopping Festival, now in its 10th year, is one of the region's biggest annual events.
Neena Birla, marketing manager of Thomas Cook Al Rostamani Exchange Co. says, "The response this year has definitely been remarkable. Apart from our main offices, we have put up our exchange booths at various strategic locations like in Global Village, Al Riqqa Street, Murraqabat Street, and Al Seef Street to ensure customer convenience at all times," he assures.
Ashick Kapoor, CEO of Wall Street Exchange Center a support sponsor comments, "DSF is a time for rewards not just for the customers but also for us. That is why we've participated once again this year. We've recorded a 22-25 per cent increase in profits in foreign currency exchange as compared to the figures last year. There were 15 winners of gold coins today and the next draw will be held on February 11."
An official of Ansari Exchange, also a support sponsor, on the other hand is pleased to be part of DSF due to the awareness it generates among the public. "Many tourists visit Dubai at this time of the year. We have more than 40 branches in UAE. Most of our customers these days are from Middle Eastern (GCC especially) and Asian countries. So it is fruitful to be part of this huge festival," says Bassam Al Bala, marketing manager, Ansari Exchange.
"DSF provides a very good economical opportunity. There has been an increase in the average profits in money exchange between DSF 2004 and DSF2005. Most of our customers are from the Middle East (GCC and KSA), Europe, Australia, and America. People coming to Dubai are at ease due to the security we have here," feels Mohamed Khair Mahmasany, general manager of Al Ghurair Exchange. He adds, "There are many tourists in Dubai now. Infact, I have VIP guests putting up in Abu Dhabi Hotels because all Dubai and Sharjah hotels are fully booked. At the end I would like to thank DSF and all the Government officials who support DSF."
The Dubai Shopping Festival 2005 runs between January 12 and February 12, 2005.
