Iraq, USD3bn oil budget

Iraq has allocated USD3bn from the 2005 budget to rebuild its oil industry, according to oil officials. Projects will include expanding gas and oil production, overhauling refineries and the pipeline network, building new refineries, developing oilfields and exploration. It also hopes to secure investment through production-sharing deals with oil majors.
