Dubai participates successfully in Reiseliv 2005 and Matka 2005

As part of its endeavors to take the aggressive promotional and marketing of Dubai in overseas markets to newer heights, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) started the New Year by mounting a major presence in two international fairs.

The department successfully concluded its participation in the Norwegian International Travel & Tourism fair - Reiseliv 2005 which took place from January 13 to 16 in Oslo, Norway.

The fair which took place for the 18th year, is the most important marketplace forum in Norway for both national and international professionals in this business. Reiseliv provides an arena where both the travel trade professionals and prospective travelers looking for new destinations and information come together.

This year's fair, represented by Mr. Khalid bin Nassar from the DTCM, attracted 50,141 visitors.

Following its successful participation in Reiseliv, DTCM participated in Matka 2005 which took place in Helsinki, Finland from January 20 to 23.

The fair, the largest of its kind in the Nordic countries, is organized every year and attracts participation from travel destinations around the world, national and international traveling organizations, tour organizers, travel agencies, hotel chains and transport companies among others.

Matka 2004 had attracted nearly 74,000 visitors and 1,565 exhibitors from 53 countries.

Both the fairs attracted three co-participants. While Knight Tours, Emirates Airlines and Al Fanar Tourism & Cargo co-participated in Reiseliv 2005, Alpha Tours, Bin Majid Tours and Emirates Airlines co-participated in Matka 2005.
