"Let all the people in all the world be happy - Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu," was the refrain that had all the audience swaying before the stage at the Wellbeing Show in Jumeirah Conference Centre, Dubai.
These chirpy numbers had the entire audience clapping and swaying to Renu's strumming guitar and melodious voice. Renu then went on to dedicate a Sufi "kalam" to Deepak Chopra's laudable work across the globe for the wellbeing of humanity.
"I have performed in many places across the world, but it gives me special pleasure to sing at the Wellbeing Show, which, I sincerely feel, has brought great value to the people of this region. Since ancient times, singing and music have been known to touch the most poignant chords of human emotion helping in self-healing. Music shows an individual the innate power he or she possesses and how to draw from this inner strength to heal oneself."
The last number was a pleasant surprise for both the audience and the exhibitors in the Wellbeing Show. Renu suddenly transformed her voice adopting a nasal tone to guise an animated character of an ant pleading people not to hurt it and to show respect for its life despite its diminutive size. This number regaled one and all present at the show including the children present amongst the audience.
Renu Gidoomal, whose career is steeped in alternative medicine, also delivered a talk on holistic health. She also catalogued the history and benefits of floatation therapy which is available at Tranquility Spa headed by Renu.
