DQA Secretariat organizes specialized training in preparing award submission document for 20 companies
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, January 29 - 2005 at 16:37
- PRESS RELEASE
Companies that have registered for the 2005 cycle of the Dubai Quality Award will have the opportunity to attend a special workshop being organized by the Department of Economic Development (DED) on February 7th and 8th, 2005.
"With each passing year, the DQA secretariat seeks to build on its strengths by establishing a culture of continuous self improvement. In keeping with this policy, we have further systematized the processes for the Dubai Quality Award by introducing companies to offering uniform guidelines and structured methodologies, as soon as they express an interest in applying for the award," said Mr. Essa Kazim, Coordinator General, DQA.
"The application of the award begins with the self assessment process and culminates in the submission document," said Dr. Lway Nackasha, Adviser Quality and Business Excellence, DED. "The DQA Secretariat believes in assisting applicant companies through understanding the entire process before applying in order to ensure high quality submission documents that are rich in content and reflect the quality of the applicant organisations. This in turn lays the ground for the final evaluation to be fair and unbiased," he added.
The workshop is specially designed for management representatives who will be leading the DQA project teams at applicant companies and will be responsible for collecting and compiling information required for preparing the submission document.
The two-day workshop, which will be held at the premises of the Department of Economic Development, will be open to 20 companies that intend to apply for the 2005 cycle of the DQA and have been operational in Dubai for the last four years. Preference will be given to companies that are applying for the DQA for the first time. Private sector organizations, companies whose staff have been DQA assessors and large organizations with more than 100 employees will also be given preference at the workshop. Companies interested to participate can call the DQA secretariat at the DED for further information.
