- United Arab Emirates: Monday, January 31 - 2005 at 08:54
- PRESS RELEASE
In a development that will further establish Dubai's leading stature as the regional hub of healthcare facilities, the New Medical Centre Group announced yesterday that its upcoming hospital in Al Ghusais, Dubai, will feature some of the most advanced medical technologies in the region, making it one of the top-class hospitals in the world.
Announcing this yesterday, B. R. Shetty, Managing Director of NMC Group, explained: "The Al Ghusais facility is a further extension of our commitment to provide the highest possible standards in medical expertise in the region. With the incorporation of the technologies from Siemens Medical Solutions in this hospital, we can combine our experience and focus on patient satisfaction - an important aspect that will considerably enhance our efforts to introduce the best in healthcare."
Explaining that the NMC Hospital will be a comprehensive showcase for the most advanced Siemens solutions in the regions, Nart Mamser, Regional General Manager for Siemens Medical Solutions, said: "The NMC Hospital will be the first in the region to receive our latest medical technologies that are designed to provide maximum functionality, flexibility and responsiveness. Siemens has a long association with the NMC Group and we are honoured to be an important part of their mission to revolutionize healthcare here."
As part of the partnership, Siemens Medical Solutions will install the following solutions at the NMC Ghusais Hospital:
-MRI Unit Magnetom Avanto using the unique Total Imaging Matrix (TIM) Technology - This solutions allows whole-body imaging in excellent image quality, and in a single session. Gone are the time-consuming requirements that called for changing coils and for repositioning patients. The result: the exposure time for a scan from head to toe is now reduced to 12 minutes, TIM impressive improvement for the workflow in hospitals and private practices.
-Sensation 16-Slice Cardiac CT Scanner - The 16-slice Sensation CT scanner can successfully evaluate coronary artery stenosis in its earliest stages and that is important to anyone imaging the heart ¯ and for the general population.
-AXIOM Artis DTC Digital Cath Lab
-Mammomat Novation - This full-field digital mammography system meets the demands of modern mammography practices by providing digital screening, diagnosis, and stereotactic biopsy capabilities - all in one system.
-AXIOM Iconos R200 Digital Fluoroscopy Unit - This universal overtable X-ray system enables seamless integration into the clinical environment and significantly optimizes workflow. It contains a universal primary collimator with five remote controlled, semi-transparent wedge filters. Also, tomography is possible with six programs and laser light localizer.
-Modularis Lithotripter unit - This modular system allows users the freedom to design a urological workplace that precisely meets current clinical demands.
Different sub-configurations of MODULARIS Uro Plus or such as MODULARIS-Litho allows users to select the optimal solution that meets individual needs. Its increased penetration depth permits greater stone disintegration and efficient ESWL treatments even on most obese patients.
-C Arm Surgery Fluoroscopy Unit - This mobile C-arm is designed for universal use in general surgery, vascular surgery, trauma surgery, and orthopedics, allowing three-dimensional imaging and greater precision during surgeries. In cardiology, the system is used for monitoring pacemaker implantation.
Because imaging and monitoring systems from Siemens are equipped with snygoŽ, the company's standard operating system and user interface, all patient demographic data can be seamlessly shared throughout the hospital and to referring physicians in remote locations of the facility. This enables physicians to create a comprehensive patient report during the examinations, including imaging studies, and to complete the report seconds after finishing the procedure.
In addition, Siemens will also install a state-of-the-art X-ray radiology unit at the NMC Hospital. Through the collaborative effort, Siemens will also train the NMC staff to handle the technology effortlessly through specially devised training programs.
