CEA will be responsible for supplying its Solid State Continuous Wave Illuminator (SSCWI) transmitters, which are part of the ship's Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) self-defence system.

CEA's contract with Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) includes manufacture, delivery,
installation and training for its SSCWI transmitters for the 70 metre Baynunah Corvette
program.

The SSCWI Transmitters will be integrated with the Alenia Marconi Systems (AMS) NA 25XM Fire Control System and the IPN-S Command and Control (C2) System and provide target illumination for the Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles (ESSM).

The modular design and construction of the SSCWI Transmitter has allowed CEA Technologies to scale down the size, power and weight requirements of the transmitters to meet the size constraints of the Baynunah Corvettes and still provide the required high-performance target illumination solution.

CEA Technologies CEO Michael Aitchison said, 'CEA looks forward to working with the UAE Navy, ADSB and AMS to provide a modern, advanced technology, high performance solution with the added advantage of cementing CEA Technologies relationship with leading European and Middle Eastern defence companies.'

'The contract signing also demonstrates confidence in the capabilities of Australian Industry to design, develop and manufacture world class leading edge technology'.

This contract caps off another successful year for CEA Technologies with contracts under way for the provision of three more SSCWI Transmitters to the Royal Australian Navy and the design and manufacture of the integrated internal and external communications system for the Royal Australian Navy's new Armidale Class patrol boats.

CEA is a wholly Australian owned company, which has been successfully designing and
manufacturing advanced technology radar and communications solutions since 1983.
