To service the growing need for online travel, arabia.com have bolstered their travel channel in The Middle East by adding an extra partner, DoMiddleEast.
According to two new reports by The Travel Industry Association of America (TIA), travellers' use of the Internet to plan and book their trips continues to grow at a rapid pace. Last year in the US more than 59 million online travellers used the Internet to get information on destinations or to check prices or schedules. This represented a 395 percent growth over the past three years.
Ramzi Zeine, Chief Executive Officer of arabia.com said, " The travel channel is a key area in our portal. We have witnessed the huge growth in online travel activity and are responding to this. We have concentrated on upgrading the travel options available to our users to ensure they get the most complete online travel service".
DoMiddleEast is a marketplace providing specialised tour packages to The Middle East region. Currently the countries covered are Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt with plans to eventually expand to other destinations in the region to cover the whole Middle East.
Bargain hunters will find DoMiddleEast packed with an extensive range of vacation packages of varying themes from camel caravan trips in Jordan, skiing holidays in the beautiful ski slopes of Lebanon, city breaks in Syria exploring Damascus to taking the plunge in the Red Sea.
"We aim to promote incoming tourism to the Middle East, as well as intra-regional tourism between the countries of the Middle East" said Reine Abboud, Managing Director of DoMiddleEast.
Globally the World Tourism Organisation Business Council (WTOBC) suggests that the Internet may account for one in every four travel purchases in the main generating markets within the next five years.
