Honda surpasses all previous UAE sales records
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, February 05 - 2005 at 12:24
- PRESS RELEASE
The year 2004 was a record for Honda in the UAE, with the company enjoying a substantial increase of 20 percent in the sales of its entire range of passenger cars, 4WDs and motorcycles.
The Honda Jazz was voted the most satisfying car to own, making it the second year in a row for the nippy and economical little car which offers benchmark space, functionality, style, performance, fuel economy and safety. The Jazz also won 'Best Economy Car' at the recent Autocar Middle East magazine awards.
Honda's dedication to its Formula One heritage is evidenced throughout the entire range of Honda engines which deliver a high level of technical expertise, top quality engineering and performance. Safety has also earned Honda high recognition with the Accord model earning a 5-star frontal crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"2004 was a tremendous year for Honda in the UAE," comments Guy Edmunds, Honda Sales & Marketing Manager - Trading Enterprises. "We enjoyed huge success following the introduction of the exciting new City and Jazz and the popularity of our sensational core models, the Civic, Accord, CR-V SUV and MR-V 4WD never seems to fade - on the contrary it has increased."
Honda Motorcycles also saw strong growth during 2004, particularly in the growing off-road bikes and All Terrain Vehicles. The introduction of the Honda CRF250 off-road bike, TRX450R sports ATV and new CBR1000RR sports bike enhanced the already strong-selling CD200, ST1100 Police bike and CRF450R.
"Our main focus is on the care and support we are able to offer our customers. We have some of the finest vehicles and bikes in the UAE and we pride ourselves on being able to offer our customers the ultimate in care and service both during the sale and after-sales process," added Edmunds.
Honda is expecting a continued level of steady growth on its ever expanding range. New offerings include a 2.4 IVTEC engine in the CRV, enhanced specifications in the Civic and power options on the LXi. Increased market share is also forecast for the company's motorcycles both off-road bikes and ATVs.
"2005 will be a challenging year for the growing automotive market in the UAE but Honda aims to increase its market share and enter 2006 well ahead." Edmunds concluded.
