Team Australia raises its flag at IDEX 2005
- Saturday, February 12 - 2005 at 14:01
The Australian delegation exhibiting at IDEX 2005 offers world-class Defence products and services to the Middle East region.
IDEX 2005, one of the world's largest Defence Exhibitions, is held in Abu Dhabi under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The exhibition attracts VIPs and official delegations from the Middle East and around the globe and is recognised as one of the most significant events on the world Defence calendar.
Following a successful presence at IDEX 2003, a number of Australian exhibitors continued their commitment to the region and maintained their presence in the market.
Many companies are established in the GCC or represented on a full-time basis and this commitment is paying off as customers recognise the quality and cost-effectiveness of the solutions provided.
The Australians are again exhibiting under the banner of "Team Australia" with a contingent of some 30 organisations represented.
Growing cooperation between AGCC countries and the Australian Department of Defence is also strengthening the relationship between Australia and the region.
The Australian IDEX 2005 delegation is well supported by the Department of Defence including delegation leadership by an Australian Defence Force Brigadier who has been intimately involved in Australian Defence trade missions to the region in recent years.
Australia offers a credible alternative to some "traditional" suppliers of Defence requirements in the Middle East. With world-class quality standards; political stability; a highly trained and educated workforce; and an innovative culture, Australia offers a value for money option to many Defence requirements. In addition, Australian products are designed and manufactured to operate effectively in similar environmental conditions to those experienced in the Middle East.
