  • PRESS RELEASE

Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone Authority (Jafza) announced a fruitful participation in the third edition of the World Free Trade Zones Expo, which was held in Mumbai, the trade capital of India, from February 3 to 5, 2005.

Jafza's modern infrastructure, international facilities and support services were highly appreciated by participants at the expo.

This is the second time Jafza is taking part in this expo. Jafza was presented 'the best free trade zone' award during the previous edition of the show. Jafza participates in various exhibitions on free trade zones around the world to promote advantages of partnering with them. Jafza was also present at the Annual Free Zone Convention held in Cape Town, South Africa in October 2004.

The World Free Trade Zones Expo is considered as an ideal platform to endorse and attract investors to the emirate's free zones as it facilitates showcasing Dubai as a modern, forward thinking, business hub for the region. The World Free Trade Zones Expo brings together operators, investors and regulators under one roof.

Abdalla Al Banna, Marketing Manager, Jafza said, "Our participation in the free trade expo in India is strategically important to us, as we intend to attract a new breed of high tech industries from India. Trade relations between Dubai and India dates back to several centuries, as Dubai was the hub for promoting India's products to the rest of the world. After 20 years of its construction, Jafza is today recognised as one of the top free zones of the world, with advanced infrastructure facilities, which is being developed constantly. We also have been lending our expertise to develop similar free zones in other countries through Jafza International."

An increasing number of Indian companies are setting up operations at the Jebel Ali Free Zone to promote their products internationally. There are more than 481 Indian companies located at Jafza, and this number is set to rise considerably in the coming years, as Jafza expands its infrastructure.
