Ms Mahshid Amir-Mokri, the lady responsible for bringing this glittering occasion filled with tradition and beauty to the region, said, 'We could not have made this event happen without considerable support from Emirates Airline, Madinat Jumeirah and the Austrian companies Pago, Dotzauer, and Montes'.

Ms Amir-Mokri continued, 'Everyone has been wonderful and so supportive. Emirates Airline is the official carrier for all the Austrian artists taking part in the occasion: that means transporting 146 debutantes, the choreographer, a 38-piece orchestra and conductor, a ballet corps of six from the Vienna Opera Ballet School, and soprano Ms Ira Lauren. And it is not just the people: there is the equipment, clothes, tiaras, musical instruments and and and! Transporting so many people and luggage is no mean feat'.

Commenting on its involvement with Dubai Opera Ball, Madinat Jumeirah Resort Manager, Serge Zaaalof said, 'The Vienna Opera Ball is a perfect medium to bridge minds and bring together different cultures through art. We are very grateful to Ms. Amir-Mokri and Dr. Seiwald, Austrian Commercial Chancellor, for bringing the Opera Ball to Dubai. Alles Walzer!'

Ms Amir-Mokri resumed, 'We are also delighted that Pago will be supplying all fruit juices on the evening, Aqua Montes will keep us refreshed with Tyrol mountain mineral water and Dotzauer will add sparkle with their magnificent chandeliers, which were specially made for this glamorous event and will be auctioned after the event for charity. In fact they are responsible for much of the lighting in Madinat Jumeirah, Al Qasr Palace and Mina A'Salam.

Ms Amir-Mokri further added, 'The Dubai Opera Ball is a glittering occasion that everyone who attends is certain to enjoy. However it also has a more serious role as a charitable event. We have therefore decided that, in line with the Vienna Opera Ball this year, all proceeds from the total net profit raised will be donated to the Tsunami Victims' Fund. Funds will be distributed via Dubai Aid City, the World Health Organisation (WHO) and UNICEF. Our hearts go out to the victims and survivors and we who are more fortunate would like to make a small contribution to their recovery.'
