AUST Network stretches wings across borders

"Ajman University of Science and Technology Network (AUST Network) plans to stretch its wings across borders by creating academic and scientific cooperation with a number of German universities and scientific research institutes," said Dr Basheer Shahada, Vice President of Follow Up Modernization and Follow Up Affairs, AUST Network.

He said, "We recently paid a visit to a number of German research institutes and universities with an objective to create cooperation platforms in terms of exchanging teaching staff, research work and students. We are looking forward to strengthening our relationship with these institutions to exchange expertise, knowledge and ultimately benefit students both from Germany and the UAE."

"We have discussed a number of important issues with German education officials to upgrade our scientific relationship and the ways and means of maximizing the benefit between AUST Network and German universities," said Dr Shahada.

"We agreed to organize visits to our students and teaching staff in Germany to benefit from their scientific developments. We are also prepared to receive German students who are interested in visiting the region to get a closer look at our educational and scientific developments. We also had the opportunity to discuss the possibilities of launching joint post-graduates courses," added Dr Shahada.

"In addition to that, a number of issues pertaining to training, research, and exchanging expertise were discussed. Our delegation from AUST had the opportunity to visit Seimens Medical Equipment manufacturers and other scientific institutions. We also discussed the possibilities of supplying the university with medical equipment. A visit by Ajman University High delegation to Germany's universities is scheduled for early next week. Two approach seminars, themed "The University of the Future" and "Arab Islamic Culture" are also planned for 10 February," concluded Dr Shahada.
