As an Emiratization value, Union National Bank (UNB) welcomed new group of students who joined the sponsorship program that UNB offers to local students.
In line with UNB's policy to encourage local graduates to join the banking sector, the bank keeps on initiating attractive programs to the local graduates. The most recent activity was the organization of job interviews for a large number of students from different universities and colleges of UAE. The students were UNB's nominated for the jobs in UNB's head office, in Abu Dhabi.

Universities and colleges in the UAE nominated 46 students for sponsorship program. 22 of them where chosen by UNB for interviews and 14 students met the requirements of the sponsorship program successfully. One day was held for interviews to give general idea about the bank and the sponsorship program. Contracts were then signed between UNB and the students to join the sponsorship program.

During this day UNB's management welcomed the students and answered all their questions. Students were vibrant and motivated to join the banking sector especially UNB. Sauod Al Darmaki, one of the nominated students said "I was keen to work in the banking sector and UNB has a good reputation which encourages me to work hard, be ambitious and make my dreams come true at UNB." Asma Al Kindi, one of the nominated added "UNB offers creative programs to local students, we really need programs which take care of students and UNB is doing that." As Laila Al Shaer, another nominated said "Our desire for work motivated us to join this program. We will work hard to gain work experience and to learn new things in the work place"

UNB is offering distinguished support for students who are interested in working while studying. So they can work on Thursdays of every week and one month during their summer holiday for a monthly reward along the sponsorship period that continues until they graduate. In addition to this, they have the priority to be recruited in the bank after they complete the studies successfully.

Ahmed Al Hosani, Assistant Vice -President and Emiratization Manager at UNB commented "UNB is keen to provide plans that prepare professional local resources who are capable to succeed and excel in banking sector."

UNB offers all means for recruiting local graduates who are interested to work in banking sector. UNB aims to employ at least 4% locals of its work force each year, where the bank employed 65 locals last year which is 6.5% of its staff making locals constitute about 17.2% from the total percentage of UNB staff.

The event was very successful, and students were encouraged and motivated to work at the bank. UNB will always work hard to employ qualified and talented students as the bank strongly believes that the local youth is the future of banking sectors in UAE.
