The Digital Operation Room (OR) area will showcase Sony's strength in providing imaging solutions based on AV and IP network technologies. In today's demanding hospital environments, integration across departments is essential to speed up patient's diagnosis and treatment and cut costs. Sony's workflow solutions allow doctors and other medical staff to share up-to-date information at the touch of the button as well as enjoy real-time consultation. All image workflow is based on
DICOM and all images are routed via the DICOM Satellite Server and finally stored on the flexible and scalable HNF (Hybrid Network File server).
In the Telemedicine zone, Sony B&P will demonstrate how various Video Conferencing products meet the needs of the healthcare industry and enhance communication capabilities. For example, Sony's Video Conferencing solutions can provide a live link of operations and endoscopic and surgical microscopes can be transmitted via videoconference to the doctor's office for a second opinion or to a conference room for educational needs.
Sony's solution offering for Patient Monitoring, includes Sony's Real-shot Manager software and IP monitoring or surveillance equipment that enable nurses to remotely observe patients in the recovery room or follow an operation allowing busy staff to monitor patient's progress more efficiently.
Finally, the DICOM Imaging solutions area will showcase Sony's Digital Film Imager which is based on Sony dry-processing technology. This is an innovative printing mechanism which does not use liquid chemicals or heavy metals such as silver on thermal film - alleviates the hassle of disposing of chemical or industrial waste. This technology also boasts high speed printing, reproducing diagnostic images at a rate of up to 70 sheets of film per hour.
