'IDEX has witnessed tremendous growth since its inception a decade ago. It has been able to establish itself as the leading defence exhibition worldwide. This edition is considered the biggest in its history since 1993, with more than 900 specialised exhibitors and 68 official delegations,' said a spokesperson at GEC, the organisers of the event.
The 2nd edition of the Gulf Defence Conference which will be held on Saturday 12th February 2005 and will witness the participation of leading experts from the defence industry. The main purpose of the conference is to discuss and debate the situation in Iraq and the global implications of the situation in Iraq.
The conference aims to exchange points of view on the current security situation and impact of this situation for countries in the region as well as and will tackle various security issues such as; terrorism and land & naval threats on GCC countries.
IDEX 2005 to take place under the patronage of H H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan
General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of GEC, will inaugurate on Sunday 13th February 2005, IDEX 2005 - the 7th International Defence Exhibition and Conference, to be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
